It helps us tremendously if you tell us the year and model of your RV and the type of leveling system you have (hydraulic Level Up or electric Ground Control). Add this info to your signature so it is always there.

Second when you say "can't get auto to work" what does that mean? What specifically doesn't work? The key pad doesn't work for Auto Level? The pump/jack motors doesn't start when you push the button? The rig doesn't end up level?

Yes, lots of good help here but more info is needed.

What trailer do you have? Year and model
What happens, or doesn't happen, when you press the Auto Level button?

On mine I have to press and hold for a sec to engage it. Basically a firm, slow press.

If it's persistent then I would call Lippert directly. They are very helpful in troubleshooting these things.

Any error codes? Or it just doesn't work?

With a High Country you get the electric Ground Control system. Does anything happen at all when you hit the Auto button? Does it try to lower the jacks? Is there any sign of life when you hit the button (click or noise). Are there any error messages? Since the manual buttons seem to work, the system basically is functional. But there is something going on with the Auto button.

I would try two things. First reset the system. There is a procedure in the manual (I don't have this system so I can't point you to it).

Second call Lippert. They are very helpful and will walk you though the problem.

Right…does it not level (ie, out of stroke error or something) or doesn’t do anything when you hold and press the auto button?

Can't help with "or something", but if you have <Out Of Stroke Error>, you will need to retract ALL jacks, then extend them 6". I can't remember the exact procedure off the top of my head, but I'm pretty sure you will need to retract all again, ground your front landing gear, unhitch and then go to <Auto Level> and hit enter. I'll try and attach the Ground Control 3.0 manual for you....
VERY important is that you put blocking beneath your leverers so that they won't travel so far and go out of stroke. Side benefit to doing so is that it makes my 331RL more stable when I do that.
Found the link for the 3.0 manual / troubleshooting guide:
https://www.montanaowners.com/forums...?do=file&id=40

Good luck and let us know how you come out.

Download the Lippert NOW app from Google play store. Lots of good info, manuals, TSB, troubleshooting etc.
Lippert also has excellent help desk support.

When I hit auto it doesn't level

I had trouble with my 2020 3021RL. When I used pads under the front jacks of the Monty that caused the front to be too high even when they were fully retracted, the auto level would fail.

Help

We have a 2021 3791rd and on several occasions ours would not work. A lot of times it was because the front of the camper was not high enough or it was too high. The other thing is like some of the others on here have said, a long slow push of the button works too.

First couple times i used our Ground control3.0 kept getting left front jack error . Cleared as recomended by extending jacks 6 " & retracting all jacks to clear the error . Was using 6x6 blocks under jacks & found i was running out of stroke . Last few times i just used 3 of the lynx levelers under jacks raised camper enough to unhitch & drive truck from under . Instead of trying manuel level as close as i could eyeball . I just started hitting Auto Level with camper in raised unhitched position . Front started to kneel really low (aw sheet moment) but then it started coming back up & finished & rear jacks started doing their thing . Works everytime now.

This might help you, I have experienced a similar problem. I use the manual mode to un-hitch from my truck, and is think it gets stuck on manual mode. Once I have moved my truck well out of the way, I turn off the leveling controller and turn it back on and hit autolevel, it immediately begins to self level. Sometimes a simple reboot is all it takes.
Good luck!

For starters ? the front of the fifth wheel must be above level before starting the auto level cycle or it won't work.

Exactly!! What happens when you turn on the remote and press auto level? It either reads an error code or starts the leveling process.
