Road Side Assistance

Hi All, We are meeting with the dealer on Monday to finish the paperwork and the walk through of our new 3855BR. The finance guy is trying to sell the road side assistance to the tune of 5 to 6k. Have anyone of you gotten this? Is there something better?

Does that come with a parking valet? What does this roadside assistance cover? If it is a "towing insurance", there are many companies out there that provide that service much cheaper (and probably better). I use AAA emergency road service.

That sounds like a scam, and not to mention tacking on thousands of dollars on your loan. I wouldn't do it.

Don't Do It!!!!!! Read this Thread on Roadside Assistance to see what others here are doing (for much less than your offer).

Are you sure that he is talking about "only" roadside assistance? Maybe he is including 5 year "repair warranty". That would still be too high. A 5 year repair should cost $2-$3,000.. Roadside (blowouts, flats, dead batteries, towing, fuel) about $100-or so per year. Repair is for something not under dealer warranty or after warranty runs out....A/C, refrigerator , stove, converter/inverter, slides, leveling system.....

Don't get pressured into buying anything extra. Shop around and buy later if you decide you really need it.

We have used Coach-Net for 10 years of fulltiming and over 100,000 miles. They are great when you need them and have many other helpful services. While road side assistance is something you don't want to go cheap on, it and service agreements are not something to buy from the dealer.
