trsf water from bladder to rv

anyone using a bladder what is the best method to get the water from the bladder to rv? can you somehow use the water pump on the rv or do i need to use an axillary pump ? i have used the gravity feed method into the over flow port, but only 5 gallons at a time. i now have a bladder that holds closed to 60 gal

I use a 12V external pump (Harbor Freight) wired to the 12V Charge Line on the Bergman plug. But others use the RV water pump in Winterize mode. Look at this Thread:

Pump came from Lowe's. It's 120 v AC, but I also have 400 watt inverter in my truck that will power the pump if we are located somewhere without electricity.

The tank came from TSC (Tractor Supply Company). I've been using these for several years now.

I bought a shurflo 12v pump and wired it with a 7 way plug, and plug in in the bed of the truck. Now I always have a spare for the camper if need be.

I use a Utilitech pump like Dutch shows in his picture above. Works well.
Someone figured out how to use the internal pump and the winterize port. If memory serves, you hook up to the winterize port and use your internal pump to pump the water in. Hook your outside hose in the wet bay to the water inlet and put the city water switch to tank fill. Then pump away.

That’s what I do(above post using winterized valve). Didn’t have much luck gravity filling with the vent being in the place it is near the back tire.

i use an aquatank 2 60 gal bladder, with a harbor freight 120v transfer pump.
make sure you have any adapters needed before heading out. i learned this the hard way :-)

As a "camp host" I've stumbled into a few situation where folks will purchase new equipment and the first time out of the box is when they arrive at their campsite. Somehow, I seem to be a magnet and they are attracted to me to help them out of their difficulty in not knowing how to set the item up or how to use it. Oh well, I consider that part of the camp host job.

Last incident was a 90 year old woman who was mad at her husband and decided to just take off and go camping alone. She purchased a tent along the way and a sleeping bag. When she arrived, she had no clue how to set up the tent. Never opened the box until then.

Gullible me, I saw her from a distance struggling with the tent and offered my help .... bad mistake. It took over an hour, lots of sweat, and working with a product (myself), I'd never seen before. But I got the tent up for her.

So, this is absolutely sound advise ... before actually using any item you intend to use for camping in the field, be sure to set it up and / or use it at the home base first so you know how it operates in the field .... AND you know how to hook up all the parts!

We have done this method, however it is much faster with a transfer pump (Harbor Freight).

Filling freshwater tank using winterizing port.
Take 5 gal bucket of freshwater. Connect a pickup hose to the winterizing port (sometimes you have to use 2 washers to make a good seal). Put the open end into the bucket of water. The bucket must be level to or higher than the winterizing port. Turn winterize valve to "ON". Connect the outdoor shower hose to city water connection. Turn "Normal flow/Fill" valve to "Fill". Turn water pump on and open cold water side of shower. Water will draw from 5 gal jug go thru shower hose into city water connection right into the freshwater tank.

I do about the same as DutchmanSport. I made up a kit that fits into a 20”x 15” x 5” hard case. It has a 60 gallon bladder, a 3.5 gallon Shurflow pump (like what is in your rig) it is wired to a 7 way plug that utilizes the trucks 12 volt system. A short hose to go from bladder to the pump, the a hose from the pump to the trailer. I use a water meter to see how much I add but that’s really not needed. I would get a water bandit incase your water source doesn’t ha a threaded hose end to hook up to.

i ended up buying a new flow jet pump same as the one in the camper, now if needed i have a spare have for the camper. got it all set up and it was sucking the inlet hose so hardly anything would go through. so i flopped the hoses around so the inlet hose is only about 8 ft. in the manual you get there is a page that shows all the different you fittings available, i purchased through amazon the fittings that connect to using the white hose. trial run worked like a charm.
