Of all the weeks to have it and we are retired but have others plans (reunion). We would be there otherwise. I guess I'll see you in Branson in 2008.

Know what you mean about dates Hugh,
Branson doesn't match up our schedule by 1 week.
Safe travels.

Your timing is of. We will be in Navarre Florida from October 6th thru 20th and then head home. A stop-off would be fine if our timing didn't make us 5 days early. We aren't full timers and have too much to do back home to take that many extra days.

Well Dave, everybody can't be everywhere at the same time. We're missing Branson by just a few days ourselves. Can't wait to be a longtimer! We'll be thinking about each other anyway. I wish you safe travels and maybe next time. Thanks for letting us know.

The title of this section is MOC regional clubs. Is there really any such thing? Is there really a Southeast regional Moc club? I am wondering about this and if so who belongs to it? Good Sam really does have local clubs and they camp together These clubs even have their own officers and the people meet and plan things together. I get the impression here that if several get together and someone says let's have a rally and posts a date and place that's it. I believe there was one in Georgia last year. Has there ever been one in Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina or Arkansas? Is there a particular reason why South Georgia is considered to be the center of the Southeastern Region? Maybe most of the MOCers in the Southeast live in Georgia, I don't really know. Would more attend if it were held elsewhere? I don't know. I suppose I'm simply thinking out loud.

As far as I know and understand, we were talking on another thread, one thing led to another and now there is a few of us getting together the end of October. Not much else to it. No big plan, nothing major, just a few of us being in the same place at the same time, that's all. I posted this and noone has moved it, so I guess it's in the right place. I'm just thinking out loud too.

I'm still wondering, is there really such a thing as a Southeast Regional MOC Club? I can't help but wonder since that is the heading for this section. Are there really any Regional MOC Clubs? How many members do we have in the Southeast Region? What states really comprise the Southeast Region? Would the members who live in this region really like to have a regional club? Do most of the MOC members really even pay any attention to the Regional Club section?
I've even looked at some of the other regional sections and don't really see anything that really hints at the existence of any regional club. It really appears as though these are really simply get togethers which occur in different regions of the country. Am I overlooking something here?

Maybe there should be a section for "get togethers". Just a few folks who happen to be in the same area at the same time "getting together."

Dave, you are totally correct. There is no Southeast Regional Club or any other regional club within the MOC. The 'southeast Region' is simply a geographical description that describes a certain section of the US so that people living in or traveling through that area can see if people are getting together in that area. There are very few official rallies for the MOC, primarily Goshen in the fall and California in the spring. Other get-togethers (described as mini-rallies by some) are just started by people who find themselves in one place at the same time. Some of these are planned and some just happen because MOCs cross paths with one another.
The mini-rally in Elko, Georgia, is also an unofficial rally. I started that gathering because some interest was mentioned on the forum. Anyone can do it. We didn't do any Montana stuff at this rally, just ate and played Mexican Train and ate and ate.... We had plenty of free time to explore the area, too. Some people came for the weekend, others stayed a little longer. No rules or regulations or fee. Just camping together in one spot on the same weekend. A 'family' gathering.
I did check with Administration to see if this was permitted before posting it to the forum.
This very unofficial mini-rally was started because someone mentioned a nice campground. From there it grew to a group who decided meeting in this nice campground in the fall sounded like a nice idea. It's like new friends and old friends planning a vacation together. Anyone can start such a gathering. We have an open invitation to anyone who wants to join us because we love to meet other MOCers.
