True that, but that switch was an either/or switch (not 3-point) and usually mounted on a cabinet wall. Plus there was no fan associated with it.

Did someone accidentally connect the wires to the battery backwards when installing that new battery? It doesn't take much to blow the Reverse Polarity Fuses in the converter if so.

Actually, diesel in much of CA is not quite that bad. I paid $5.04 in Santa Maria a week ago, and $5.09 in Sacramento yesterday. The EFS card will get you fuel for ~ $4.70. Way too high in any event....
