With all 3 slide bottoms cracking, it seems to me this is a Keystone problem. No way this can happen unless there is something wrong - maybe they got a bad batch of the material used for the bottom.

I think mine is also under the steps. The hard wired advantage is if the cord or the connections are bad, it picks that up vs on the post, it will miss a bad cord, etc.
