The AC fan is on low. Switch mode until you see Fan, then change to auto. Low or high will make it run constantly.

Also, your heat electric setting is the heat pump on your AC unit. The heat gas setting is your furnace. Just different terminology. I'm guessing you have the Coleman units where ours is the Dometic....

There's nothing wrong with doing it that way, but if you would prefer to save your propane, you can skip the gas and go straight to heat electric. At 42 degrees, it should work fine.
