They charge by the gallon around here ,Lake Havasu..just went up to 2.20 per gallon. It has very very cold for this area and propane can be in short supply. The place we buy ours is going through 800...

If they fill by the gallon it may be propylene (a form of propane) They normally call everything propane, and actually it is..propylene should be a bit less expensive.
