A simple solution is to put a $5 backflow preventer on the hose connection for the black tank flush. It's extremely unlikely to backflow into the fresh water anyway, but for $5, it's cheap insurance.

Another +1 for the foam brushes. They work well and are cheap. Used to get a bag of 10 or more from the "Dollar" store. Now I guess it's the "Dollar and a half" store.

The penny gauge is a good indicator. I taught that to my daughter years ago. The measurement I've always used is 3/32nds inches. I have a tread depth gauge for readings in 32nds of an inch.

I had two of these so far, they started to rust fairly quickly and lost magnetism. I wish I had coated the metal parts in clear nail polish. That may have extended its life.

Try tracing the incoming power from your converter/breaker panel box back to the incoming shore power outlet. Your converter, if it's the same as mine, should be in the same area....
