FYI: UM175 is poor replacement for Verizon UM150

Sadly, I must report that the Verizon UM150 is quickly disappearing from purchasing channels and is being replaced by the UM175, which in my opinion is an inferior device.

The new UM175's only redeeming "feature" is that it is about 3/4" shorter than UM175.

What I do NOT like about it is the decision to leave off the signal lights that I really love on my UM150. They also did away with the microSD slot... no big loss here, as most people never used it... just doesn't make sense to release a later product with fewer features.

Additionally, the UM175 does NOT use the same adapter cable as the UM150, and we have not found any cable to be compatible with UM175's RF jack... this could mean it may be weeks/months before it is possible to attach high-gain antennas to the UM175.

In my opinion, anyone considering a Verizon USB modem who wants a UM150 and can't find one anymore, should NOT consider the UM175, and instead go for the USB727.
