DQDick, are you sure about that? I don't see how any manufactor could sell a vehicle whose tires did not support the weight listed on the DOT sticker. For example, my 05 shows a rear GAWR of 6100lbs and the OEM size of 265/70/R17, which support 3195 lbs each, for a total of 6390lbs. A reserve of 290 lbs. I realize that newer trucks weigh more, but they come with taller wheels and 20" wheels can support up to 3750lbs each.
