When we are signed up for our first rally in 2018, we decided to look after the North to Alaska presentation with another couple. We had never met them before. We planned it together using the internet and met in person for the first time at the rally. We hit it off with these people and became fast friends. They no longer have a Montana, but we still keep in touch and if we are ever in the DC area, we will certainly look them up.
The moral of the story is that by volunteering you get to meet new friends.
