AM Poker

AM Poker Hand

I know this is a long post, but I wanted everyone to know more about AM Poker, especially if you weren’t familiar with the game- like me. 😊

What is it? It’s like a poker walk or a poker run.
A person can buy one hand, or more, (2, 3, etc.) to participate during the rally week. For 5 mornings, each participant draws one card daily, hoping to make the best poker hand to win. Basic poker rules apply. The daily card is recorded on the player’s score card by the organizers. The winner will be announced at the end of the rally.

Where? AM Poker Hand will be held in the ECCC building.

When? The 5 daily drawing times will be posted in the schedule. Times are before class sessions. The drawings will start on Friday, September 10th, with the last card drawn on Tuesday, September 14th.

Cost? $5 per hand- You can buy as many as you want to buy.

We will announce the winner at the end of the rally, on Wednesday night. The winning hand will be based on the “Best Poker Hand”. The proceeds will be divided; ½ to the winner and ½ to the club to offset the rally cost.

Volunteers:
1. Alta Zenonian
2. Ron & Pam White
3.
4.
5.

Volunteers to help for 3 of the mornings are still needed. If I could have 6 more people to help, you would only have to work one of the mornings.

Rules (Yes, there are always some rules.) 😊

• Each hand (5 cards) costs $5. Players may buy more than one hand.

• Poker Score cards will be held by the “Dealer”/Coordinator after being filled out by the player.

• Players draw one card at a time and lay it face up on the table.

• No duplicate cards can be used. Participants must draw an additional card if an identical card is drawn.

• If playing more than one hand, the participant must tell the “Dealer” which hand they are drawing for, so the “Dealer” can mark the appropriate Score Card. You cannot mix cards among multiple hands.

• Players missing a morning may draw multiple cards on other days.

• At the end of the game, players may draw up to 2 additional cards to improve their hand. Each additional card costs $5.

• The “Best Poker Hand” is based on the best 5 cards.

• In case of a tie, there will be a draw for the “High Card” to determine the winner.
All decisions of the judges are FINAL!

**We will be selling AM Poker Hand cards during the Registration Packet pickup as well as the first morning of play.

Good Luck everyone!
