As Lynwood said, if you can do your slides AND skirt with insulation it will help a lot. This guy used reflective insulation. Hopefully it is reflective on both sides so it reflects the heat back in. Make sure the fit is snug to help eliminate drafts.
For the slides do the top first. Cut it long enough to overlap the sides. Same for the sides, make sure they overlap the bottom. This will ensure it sheds the rain away.
I would had enclosed under the overhang. Put a door on it and it's storage space. It will also help keep the bedroom floor warm.
