Welcome to the forums and congrats on getting your new camper.

Tires can "age out" after just a couple years, very easy. It's called dry rot. If they were exposed to the sun and never moved, you want to check them very, very careful. Look for fine cracks in the side wall. If so, they are dry rotted.

Good advise above about checking things out before moving it.

If your friend is comfortable towing, you'll probably be just fine. Definitely, have your friend do a good inspection of the suspension, tires, and general condition of the camper. Follow his advise. Have him take it slow and easy until you both have confidence in the camper. Test brakes for sure before getting on the road.

Make sure you have a good battery installed on the camper. In order for the break-away system to work, you need a battery. If there is no battery, the break-away system will not work. Make sure the pin is inserted in the brake-away switch.

Good luck, enjoy, and happy camping!
