We haven't been satisfied with the cooling abilities of the Norcold 2118RV fridge. It does fine overnight and maintains 34°F, but during the day it's always in the mid 40's. I had the unit set to the highest setting (9) on my tests last week. The freezer does ok, but ice cream is never hard. Gas or 120V it's the same performance. On 120V setting, the heating element uses about 625W. This equates to about $75 each month of energy (~$.17/KwH) at my location.

I ordered the 12V JC dual compressor and it should be delivered in the next day or so. The sun will power the 12V model (1200W solar/six 100Ah BB LiFePO)
