3/4” socket. There is a hand crank, should have come Velcro’d to the pass through wall. If you have the Norco BAL retract-a-spare model spare tire mount that I have, (pic below) DO NOT use an impact driver/gun to raise the tire back into place. The maximum torque on the mechanism is 20-25 ft/lbs. over torquing will pull the cable off though the plastic fitting it is housed in and your tire will come crashing down, or even worse, will be hanging by a shred of plastic and come crashing down when you hit your next pothole.
