Check out auctions, yard sales, and estate sales in your area. If you can find an older one, it will probably be well made and has already stood the test of time. They don't make them like they use to.

If you buy new, you are going to have to pay the price for a good sturdy one. Or, have one built from scratch from someone, or some company that does welding. If you have one custom built, you can specify the exact size you need.

I think the general conscious is to have one mounted or fixed to the frame. Instead of using the receiver hitch in the middle. Affix one that has the receiver on both ends. It will be much more stable and stronger.
