We have a 05 2500HD GMC with an Edge chip in it. The EGT sensor is mounted in the pre-turbo area. It has an alarm that go off if the EGT exceeds 1350. Normally in overdrive I am up around 950-1100 in hilly country. Drop it down into 3rd gear in the hills and the temp goes down in the EGT and cooling. Ovedrive in hilly country is a killer and can cause the EGT and Truck temp climb to max degrees. We tow a 05 3475 similar in wt as the 3400 and have set the edge alarm to go off when ever I exceed the EGT 1300 mark and the 210 degrees temp on the cooling.
