Dave, one thing that is a big help. I bought a oil filled radiant heater from wally world to supplement the furnace. It made a very big difference in gas consumption. Get the kind without the fan. They don't pull a lot of power and once they reach temp they help maintain it. I still use it today in our 3650rk. (p.s. it helped me through the Maine winter at -12 deg.)
