I think your awning might be racked a bit. This can be caused be wind or traveling down the road can do it also. When I bought the unit I have now I tried to put the awning out and I could not get the front arm to extend at all. Found out the inner part was bent bad,I fixed that. I also noticed my back arm needed to be extended by a couple of inch's when I tried to close it. I don't think it was ever adjusted from the factory. I works good now and I hope it stays that way.
