Seems to me that people (especially those in their mid 20's to mid 50's age group) seem to be much more image and status conscious than even just a few years ago. Large houses in exclusive neighborhoods, expensive "status" vehicles, designer clothes and accessories, etc. are essential to their feeling of well being. And of course, many of those are living well beyond their means. But heaven forbid someone may think they come from a less than affluent background.
I have no desire to live like that. Although we are not full timers, I would have no problem at all doing just that.
