Mine are flow thru and they do recommend programming before you install. That's what I did. Adding air to the tire thru the flow thru sensor seems to cause an immediate sending of information so it shows up quickly. Also I've noticed that the sensor reads high while you have the compressor nozzle connected and when you remove it, it causes a fast deflation alert. Once you clear all alerts, it cycles thru with the correct pressure.
