I decided to replace the vacuum breaker with a quality brass one. Costly here in Alaska, but I shouldn't have any problems with it now. After reading about it here, I cut a hole in the kitchen cabinets that back up to the shower. After replacing the valve and adding new hose supports to the stud, I went to Lowe's and bought a piece of trim, cut and stained it, then velcro'd it into place. I might end up changing the velcro, but it is holding for now and looks pretty good if you ask me More knowledge learned on this great site!
