Could be that it's just rain water (if you've been driving through any). One thing to do is replace the lame and not effective aluminum strips from the factory. I picked up some 1" alum. "C" (or "U") channel from my local Lowe's. Used the old strips as templates to drill holes and used the same screws to mount the new ones. Much stiffer!
