Our shaft has a deep scratch in it thanks to an idiot move I made in Year 1. Whenever we end up leveling *somewhere* in the scratch, it leaks. So, I keep various pieces of wood on hand to adjust where the jack ends up relative to the scratch, and that has worked for 9 years. If it aint broke toooo bad, why fix it?
