I had the same problem, the mount was tearing out of the ceiling and pulling the ceiling down in the closet. I bought one of these telescoping rods, drilled a hole thru the hanging rod and inserted it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...TF8&th=1&psc=1

I bought a rubber cup like you put under furniture or chairs and screwed it to the floor to make sure the rod didn't slide out of place. Have NOT had any issues and it was a quick and cheap fix.
