We had the same issue on our gas water heater. We took the valve off and took it to an RV repair shop. The tested both solenoids and one was bad. We replaced both of them. Cost was about $25.00. Try that before replacing the valve. Valve is around $90.00. Replacing the solenoids is easy. We also replaced the burner tube in case it was plugged. Cost about $20.00.
