When we have been in below freezing temperatures, we only used the furnace because the thermostat would see warmth inside the rig from the fireplace heater or any other source and turn off the furnace too soon. We also kept the thermostat set at 65 degrees at night or even a few degrees higher and never experienced frozen plumbing.
