Years ago, I got in a hurry and took the wife's Expedition into Jiffy Lube for a oil change before travel. Turns out, they drained about a lb. of freon from the AC hoping I would return and have them fix it. Found the cap off the line still laying on the frame under the hood. Up until then (and ever since) I had been the only person under that hood, so I know it wasn't like that when I got there.
Had to add a whole pound of freon and some dye to ensure no leaks. Once it was recharged, I never had a problem with the AC again for a few years until we traded it in.
I'll never go back to one of those places again!
