It's not the fanciest hitch, but the Demco Recon fifth wheel hitch weighs in about 60-70 pounds or less. It comes apart in 3 sections for easy removal, or the whole thing can be lifted out in one piece if you don't mind man-handling it. You don't have to get a 300 pound hitch. Air bags, shocks on the hitch are all nice, but I've had absolutely no issues using my Recon hitch. It's standard, basic, and easy to use. It's just a suggestion as a way to reduce weight.
