Mark-- You found the right place to ask your question/s concerning your possible purchase of a 3120RL. You will need to upgrade your current 1500 to tow that unit. You will get a lot of variations on whether to go with a 2500 or a 3500 and whether you should go gas or diesel. This is all up to you but if it were me and I have done this by the way, go with the 3500 diesel and you won't have any problems towing your unit. If you consider the pin weight the 2500 may do BUT if you decide to go even bigger than the 3120 you may be in trouble with the pin weights of larger units. I had a 2500 to start with but upgraded to a 3500 when we upgraded out Montana model a few years back. I went with the diesel also and glad I did. When I need the power when climbing mountains I have it and don't have to worry about it. This is my opinion only and I'm sure you'll be getting contrary posts to mine.
