I installed the same 1 quart accumulator. I'm thinking of moving it to the hot water line as an expansion tank to take the pressure of expansion/contraction off the tank. Then install the 2 gallon one on the cold line under the island sink with a T fitting to drain it for winterizing.
To answer your question regarding using other material under the feet of the pump for noise dampening, I used left over rubber drawer liner from Walmart. I just folded it over about 4 times then put a screw through it.
Others have used foam (computer) mouse pads.
Anything that will absorb vibration from the pump.
Also put 1/2" foam pipe insulation on every pipe you can reach. Especially put it between the pipe and any wall/frame surface. I slide it up the pipes behind the shower wall. Very effective.
