Now days refurbished means someone opened it and sent it back good. Most manufactures don't deal with bad equipment unless it's high end, they sell them in bulk to outside sources who repair them and sell them where they can. Nothing wrong with refurbished, I've saved a ton of money over the years buying refurbished (but not on eBay) and have never had an issue.
