I have a different problem. On my HC, the closet rod is supported by the shelf, so the shelf is sagging. When I get "around to it", I am going to attach a piece of 1-1/2" square aluminum tubing, continuous the full width of the closet, behind the front edge trim of the shelf. Either that, or convince the DW to pack fewer clothes. I think I will go with the former.
