If the plastic trim you are referring to is the piece between the aluminum and the fiberglass wall, then pull the plastic trim off. It is held on by a metal strip that is screwed on, and the aluminum is held on by this strip. I had ours come off in a couple of places and it is really easy to fix. After you get things back into place, remove the old silicone caulk and recaulk the plastic trim that covers the metal strip.
