I think either are good hitches. I have a Curt Q24 designed specifically for installation in a puck system in my long bed. Recommend the hitch be easy to adjust up and down to achieve 7" clearance between the tuck bed top and fifth wheel cab. Also, since you are comfortable with a short bed and no slider hitch then no reason to purchase a slider hitch. When I had a short bed truck I had a slider hitch since I was more comfortable with that function to mitigate the risk of truck cab damage.
