Having lived in Hobbs for decades in the past I would wonder why you would want to go there? Absolutely nothing unless you like the smell of natural gas and oil in the air.
Combine that with the barren desert and 1/2 the population being from TX (about 3 miles to TX border) and it's a pretty bleak place. Now Eagles Nest? I'd stay there all summer.
