It is normal for rotors to rust when not in use. If this is just surface rust, it will come off when the pads rub the rotor. If the rotor is pitted, most of the rust will still go away with use but the pits will accelerate pad wear.

To me, there are some spots that look pitted. That's the part that I was more concerned about.

I'm going to check it again after a longer trip and see what's not surface.
