We went up the coast from Key West and worked our way north. Loved the OBX. Dry camped on Ocracoke Island and Oregon Inlet.
Virginia Beach, JB Andrews in DC. Philadelphia KOA in Clarksboro NJ.
We took i-287 around NY. Stayed at West Point NY.
After that followed i-95 N. Stayed at Fourth Cliff for a few weeks and toured the area. Martha Vinyard Boston, Salem, Plymouth etc.
Couple of days at Wild Duck Adult Campground.
It's a little tight. We are 53' hitched. 35' Monty.
Fortunately at the time of our arrival (about 3pm) the Campground was fairly empty of parked vehicles. We got in easy enough. Once everyone is home the street fills up with parked trucks. Would be difficult to get in if you come in late.
Then up 95 to Bangor and down 1A to Bar Harbor.
We stayed at Bar Harbor Campground. It's the closet one to Acadia NP. Acadia NP has 157 miles of hiking trails. And about 50 miles of biking trails. We broke in our new electric bikes there. LOVED IT.
Bar Harbor Campground is the cheapest in the area. No reservations. First come first served. If someone leaves and you like their site better than the one you have you can jump into it. It makes for an interesting game of hopscotch. We spent a month there and plan on going back.
They have a great free bus system.
If you want to drive to the top of Cadillac Mountain you have to book that in advance. You can take the bus.
