ScottN. Any naturally aspirated engine looses about 3.5% of power per 1000 feet of elevation, propane, gasoline. Air is thinner at elevation and without forced induction you just can’t get as much air in the engine.
I had my Honda 3000 watt up on the Blueridge Parkway last summer. It sooted up the back of my camper. We was at about 4000 feet. I could have rejeted the carburetor. It only takes a few minutes but I didn’t.
