LOL. I got on a tangent there, sorry, and never did answer your question.

It's not where the pucks are, it's where the pivot point is compared to the cab of your truck. That dimension MUST be over 48" (zero clearance) for you NOT to hit your cab when you are backing.

So, that means that a manufacturer could have their pivot point further back in relation to the pucks, and actually get that 48"+ dimension. However, that means that they will be behind the axle of the truck, which I believe is 42" from the back of the cab to the centerline of the axle. The center of the ball is 44" from the back of the cab, BUT the ball is 2" behind the axle on the 2020 GM's...
