We had the same problem happen a few years ago. We did call Lippert and report it. Of course, we did pay for the repair. We discovered it while traveling at a rest stop. We had to wait for a mobile mechanic to bring us some generic hardware to get it safe to travel the remaining 500 miles home. It wore our tires too, but not quite as badly as yours.
