What happens is that the shackle gets inverted due to the rig going through a low spot, off road a bit, of being jacked up. When they get this way, it pushes the axle out of alignment and wears the tires. You can raise the front end of the rig all the way up and it will pop back the correct way. Sounds like a gun shot. Or you can take it loose and put it back the way it is supposed to be.
