I have sensors on all my tires and I have found it useful. In 10 years of 5th wheeling I have never had a problem with the truck tires, but it is still good to know with a minimum of effort which tires need a little more air. I have a TST system that monitors all the tires including the trailer spare. Is it overkill? Maybe.
