Thanks for your suggestions! I replaced the attic vent caps since they were falling apart (had to buy the whole units as I couldn't find just the caps). Went through some torrential rains in Albuquerque but didn't get any water intrusion. We were stationary so I can't be sure if I resolved the problem. Will be keeping an eye on it during our next travels.
