With a 2200 a soft start will help a bunch. I use a 3500 for mine it will run the whole rig nicely if I have the fridge and water heater on gas, thats without a soft start though. If I had one I could probably run the fridge on electric too. Check to make sure the breaker on the 30 amp plug isn't popped for some reason.
