Assimilating a charging source which cannot be controlled by the BMS is never a good thing. BMS's can fail. A BIM (battery isolation manager) while only a timed relay is the bare minimum I would recommend to anyone. The BIM has no regard for nor knowledge of CCL or CVL. That being said different strokes for different folks.
