The first year I winterized my GE fridge, I tried it that way and I found water in the line under the kitchen. So I used air and continue to for the fridge. I use pink for the rest of the trailer. I disconnect the water line to the fridge under the slide and hook up the air compressor to it set at 40# and run the water dispenser until air comes out then cycle the ice maker a few times until I can hear the air coming out.
Fwiw, the manual for the U-line ice maker in my boat states never to use pink to winterize it claiming it will damage the unit and a friend that works in the appliance business and also owns a boat says that the propylene glycol damages the Teflon like material that coats the cube molds. I don’t know, I’m just told, so I use air. Certainly know a lot of boaters and campers that run the pink though. Below is the procedure to get your ice maker to cycle upon demand.
