I don't think that all sail switches are created equal. I've also had to bend a sail a bit to get it to work correctly. So far it hasn't failed. If it's working then let it work.
Personally, I like having backup parts for the furnace. They can be finicky and I hate being out in the cold when a part fails. They are usually pretty easy to fix if the parts are handy.
